Industry Training Review
Impact on
InfraTrain customers
We would like to invite our
customers to provide feedback to the Ministry of Education on the
Industry Training Review.
The deadline for feedback is
Wednesday 12 September 2012.
Over the last year the Government, through the
Ministry of Education, has conducted a review into the role and
purpose of Industry Training. A consultation document has been
produced, which includes 11 statements outlining proposed changes,
and seeking public feedback.
Overall InfraTrain believes the statements support
the status quo, and reinforce the Government’s renewed confidence in
the Industry Training Sector. However, there are potentially 3-4
‘fish hooks’ that we see could be an issue for our industry.
We would like to invite you and your business to consider the
statements, and provide your feedback via a submission to the
Ministry.
Below is a link to the the original proposal
document from MOE which includes a series of questions on the last
page which may provide some guidance. We have also
provided a document clarifying the statements in the proposal from
an infrastructure industry perspective, including our thoughts on
the proposal, and noting the four points that impact this ITO the
most. It is these key points that we would appreciate, in
particular, any thoughts/feedback on to government. Also included is a guide to putting together a
submission. Feedback should be emailed to the
Ministry of Education.
