First Line Management

InfraTrain works with recognised training providers who deliver off-job programmes for developing leadership skills.

These programmes can be tailored to meet workplace requirements and are structured to enable participants to achieve a recognised First Line Management qualification.

National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) - Level 3
This is the first of two qualifications for people who are, or are training to be, first line managers (team leaders, supervisors, or charge hands).

The qualification is made up of a core compulsory section and two elective sections covering essential oral communication skills, business skills such as administration, quality management, systems and resources, people development, and interpersonal skills.

A third elective section completes the qualification,.  This can be selected from anywhere on the National Qualifications Framework, to meet specific job requirements.

This qualification may lead to the Level 4 National Certificate in Business (First Line Management).

 

National Certificate in Business (First Line Management) - Level 4
Holders of this qualification are likely to be responsible for managing people, resources, and/or work operations.

A compulsory section covers relationship management, performance management, and workplace organisational principles required of first line managers at this level.

Two elective sections cover relevant business skills such as administration, people development, financial skills, quality, systems and resources, and interpersonal skills.  A third elective can be chosen from anywhere on the National Qualifications Framework, to meet specific job requirements.

This qualification may lead on to further qualifications in business administration, small business management, or Māori business and management.
