The Industry Training Process

The industry training process is simple.  There are generally six easy steps to gaining a new qualification and becoming a star performer.

  1. The employer and employee sign an InfraTrain training agreement and training plan.  When these are  returned to InfraTrain a  registration fee and the first monthly subscription fee will be charged.  Once the training agreement has been signed, the employee is referred to as an trainee.

  2. InfraTrain sends the employer the appropriate on-job training workbook/s.  The employer then gives the workbook/s  to the trainee to complete.  During this process the InfraTrain Regional Manager will provide the company and trainee with support and guidance.  Off job courses may be available.

  3. Once the trainee has completed the tasks in the workbook and has shown that they are competent in completing practical tasks, their work is assessed by an InfraTrain Assessor.

  4. The assessor completes the assessment process and advises InfraTrain that the trainee is competent in the unit standards required to complete the qualification.

  5. InfraTrain report these unit standards to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).  NZQA add these units to the trainee's National Record of Learning.

  6. When the trainee has completed all the unit standards required InfraTrain requests a qualification check from NZQA. Once NZQA have verified that the qualification has been achieved, the certificate is issued by InfraTrain.
